  Project Logging Platform

projectlogging

Course Managers and Superintendents are the unsung heroes of our industry. Golfers frequently under appreciate their tireless efforts in preparing the golf course to the highest standards and struggle to understand the reasons for on-course projects or decisions. Our platform allows maintenance staff to plan, monitor and log projects of all kinds across the golf course. This information is then converted into an interactive map of the course which can be found on a tablet in the clubhouse, for all members to see the great work going on across the facility. Each project is logged on the map and includes additional information such as explanations of the work, estimated timeframes or link to videos or other imagery.

Improving the dialogue between the maintenance team and golfers is important to;

bullets Increase golfer’s understanding of the work of the maintenance staff
bullets Advertise the commitment of the club to sustainable maintenance procedures and the nurturing of natural habitats across the course
bullets Showcase how the course has evolved
bullets Create a culture of shared ownership of the golf course and it’s conditioning
bullets Cultivate enthusiasm for reinvestment into the course
bullets Reduce tension between staff and golfers by better communicating the reasons for undertaking specific work

  Area Usage Analysis

areausage

We use a custom-built phone application to track area usage by golfers. This is specifically designed to measure how often players are visiting different areas of the golf course. We primarily use this service to highlight areas for the reduction of maintained turf, use of water and other resources. This process has been proven to save golf facilities significant sums of money, particularly those using high volumes of water in their daily operation. This service may also be used as the basis for planning cart paths, through understanding both walking and driving routes. We can also track the general use of practice facilities, monitoring how long golfers tend to spend in each area of the facility.

Benefits

bullets Allows for precision maintenance procedures

bullets Highlights areas for turf reduction; saving money, time and resources

bullets Improved clarity in decision making
bullets Saves money in the construction of cart paths
bullets Ensures the best possible outcome for the project
bullets Helps key decision-makers better understand member engagement in the practice facilities.
bullets Allows strengths and weaknesses of the facility to be better identified

  Pace of Play Analysis

paceofplay

Using the same phone application, we can track the flow of golfers on the golf course. This allows detailed and accurate reporting into the bottlenecks and problem areas for pace of play, and can even be used to monitor group locations in real time on the course.

Benefits

bullets Understand precisely how pace of play can be improved
bullets Create additional revenue through increasing the total number of rounds possible per day
bullets Monitor pace of play issues in real time, allowing more cost effective and efficient course marshalling

  Golfer Surveying

A surveying system specifically designed for use by golf facilities. Golfer questionnaires can be designed and released to golfers with ease, and results stored and analysed within our platform.

  Shot Location Tracking

shotlocationtracking

We create and distribute facility specific questionnaires and surveys using tablets and other mobile devices, and email chains. We monitor and probe how golfers of all standards are interacting with your golf course, in all conditions, by tracking actual shot locations alongside opinion surveys. We do this to better understand how decisions in the design and maintenance of the course will impact the golfer experience.

This information serves as the basis for all course development decisions, large or small, and ensures any on- course work is justified, and has the maximum intended impact. We can also use real player data to simulate the impact of planned works prior to construction, helping to protect against misdirected investment.

How our research can help facilities of any kind

Our research lays the foundations for course development projects of any size; from in-house work to large scale renovations. This is how:

bullets Member engagement

The process of data collection engages golfers of all abilities in the development of the golf course. It fosters a culture of shared ownership of the development works and cultivates enthusiasm for changes to the course.

bullets Predicting & justifying plans

Justifying proposals for the development of any course can be difficult, but especially when dealing with a diverse group of golfers. Alongside engaging golfers in the research and development process, our data can help to support proposals with statistical evidence of the functionality of existing features, contextualising golfer perceptions against the experiences of the wider golfing population. Our research can also form the basis for predictive modelling on the expected impact of course changes on the experience of golfers of different standards.

bullets Reliability of feedback

Golfers of different standards play the game in such radically different ways, and for different reasons. It is therefore difficult to obtain accurate feedback on the communal functionality of courses through traditional means. Core golfers’ voices are often over-heard, and the experiences of other players such as beginners, women and juniors can often be misunderstood or under- represented. It is vitally important to proceed in any development work with a thorough and unbiased picture of the experience of every member and guest; our research provides this.

bullets Precision

A few yards, inches or degrees can be the difference between a successful change or an unsuccessful one. We provide unparalleled precision in our reports, which allows each hole or feature to be fully utilised.
